It’s not often that a Google service graduates from Google Labs or loses the beta tag, but Google Reader just has. Support has also been added for French, Italian, German, Spanish, Chinese, English (UK), Japanese, and Korean languages.
I’ve been using Google Reader I think since it was launched and I’ve been hooked ever since. It’s my homepage on my Nokia N95, and one of my homepages on my PCs (the other is gmail).
Previously I was using Rojo, but the speed at which I can browse through my feeds and the tight mobile integration available with Google Reader won me over. I’ve never really used Bloglines, although I have had a quick look, but for me Google Reader is the number one RSS reader.
I also like the fact the literally every week I could see that the Google team were improving the product, and I hope that they will continue the constant drops of additional functionality. The new search function is a classic example and I’m finding this so handy in the office. When somebody asks me if I have heard about a certain story, rather than having to scroll through hundreds of posts to find the ones about that topic, I can use the search engine to jump straight to which of my subcriptions are covering that story.
